Vintage Scottish Celtic Sterling Cross With Amethyst

This little beauty is only an inch in diameter all around, but it has the wow factor about it! There is a lovely amethyst stone in it, held high with 14 prongs, I don't know if it is real but there are no air bubbles and the cut is not a rhinestone cut! I am leaning towards real as there is no evidence to the contrary. The stone itself is is a fraction off 12X10mm. It has the old fashioned T bar closure and is marked clearly Scotland and Silver.
