Titled “When Winter Comes”, this beautiful painting depicts a bull moose in a snowy, forested area. The shaded natural colors feature greens, browns and white. It appears to be in its original frame with the original backing.
The artist, Arthur H. Rowe, is known for both landscapes and cityscapes, usually painted in watercolors and ink. He was active in British Columbia, Canada and traveled extensively. It is signed on the painting “A.H. Rowe 1936” and the mat is signed, including the designation R.C.P.. The mat is also titled.
The frame measures about 21 ½” by 17 ¾” and the mat opening is 14” by 10”.
Very Good Condition: general overall darkening on the mat from age; the frame is tight with minor scuffs and minor loss to the gold finish; the glass has no cracks.
This is a lovely piece to display in a home or office! It would be a fabulous gift for a special person. We are offering more vintage goodies, so please take a look through our shop. We would be pleased to combine shipping on multiple purchases.
