It is crafted of hand blown glass, ca. early 1800’s. This type of perfume was made in several different forms, including guns, swords and canes. They all have the Nailsea type colored glass stripes or looping, using various colors. In addition, they were accented with gold paint and they took a cork at the end.
This beauty is so thin and very delicate. This example has orangey yellow swirls on the handle, and it is one of two we are currently offering. The end of the barrel has a slight flare and the handle end has a tiny dot of glass from the way in which it was blown.
It has no chips, nicks or cracks. The original gold paint shows substantial wear at the end of the barrel and at the trigger.
This piece measures about 6 ¼” long and about 1 ½” across the trigger mechanism. The open end is almost ½” across. It will be double boxed to protect it during shipping.
