Treasure Craft Lucky Sprite Pixie Elf Planter

$30 USDTreasure Craft Lucky Sprite Pixie Elf Planter

Pottery:California Pottery
This 1950s Treasure Craft of California pixie planter is in the shape of a green leaf-covered log or stump with a chartreuse green Lucky Sprite (which is what the company called their pixies) figurine posed cross legged at the side of the stump. It's 3" high by 3-1/2" wide overall. The pixie wears a leaf collar and heart shaped belt buckle, side-glancing hand painted eyes with lashes and smiling red lips. His unglazed bisque face has a little soiling, not bad. The planter has no damage, the ...
Little Boy Football Player Angel Figurine

$35 USDLittle Boy Football Player Angel Figurine

Pottery:Decorative:Figurines
This darling 1950s little boy ceramic angel figurine wears a football helmet and carries a football under one arm. He's going for a touchdown, posed in a running position with his wings raised and his free hand away from his body to the back. Gold shoes peek out from his long white robe decorated with tiny gold flowers, and his wing feathers are tipped in gold as well. There are only remnants of the original foil label on the underside, but I have a similar boxing boy angel listed with the label ...

Shawnee Chantilly 1950s Flower Bowl Planter

$12 USDShawnee Chantilly 1950s Flower Bowl Planter

Pottery:Figural Planters
This retro flower bowl or planter vase was made in 1958 by Shawnee Pottery. Shades of my mother - she had several of these pieces in the gold and white Chantilly pattern, which was advertised as a cascade of ceramic lace over capacious designs. The biomorphic shape ovoid bowl curves up at the sides and has a narrow round ribbed base painted gold. There's a very small, faint hairline at the inside rim which does not go through the pottery to the outside of the bowl - it appears to affect the ...

International Heartland Covered Casserole

This covered casserole serving dish in International China's popular discontinued Heartland pattern is 7" diameter at the rim (8-1/2" wide handle to handle) by 4-1/4" deep, not including the lid. It holds about 2 quarts. There's a little bit of decal wear to the blue butterfly and grape stem areas above the houses and two small glazed-over flaws from manufacture at the rim.
Franciscan El Patio Individual Casserole Redwood Brown

$12 USDFranciscan El Patio Individual Casserole Redwood Brown

Pottery:By Function:Dinnerware:Franciscan
El Patio was Gladding McBean's first line of dinnerware, produced in 1934, before the company adopted the Franciscan trade name. The casserole is in excellent condition with no damage or crazing. It has the oval GMcB mark, the company's earliest backstamp.

Johnson Bros Merry Christmas Tree Shaped Dish

$26 USDJohnson Bros Merry Christmas Tree Shaped Dish

Pottery:Transferware
A festive tree shaped serving dish in the Merry Christmas transferware pattern by Johnson Brothers, made in England. The pattern was reintroduced in 2004 but I don't believe they brought this piece back - in any event, it has the original old mark, not the new one. It measures 8-1/4" by 7-5/8" and is in excellent condition with no damage, crazing, or design wear.

They have their original foil name labels and are in great vintage condition with no chips, flakes, or crazing. Rooney has a small pale brownish mark on his tail under the glaze - it appears to be from the tip of the artist's finger while decorating. Both figurines ...
Ceramic Bell Figurine, Girl Cook or Butcher With Goose

$25 USDCeramic Bell Figurine, Girl Cook or Butcher With Goose

Pottery:Decorative:Figurines
This amusing and perhaps slightly shocking 1950s bell figurine is a girl in a cook's or chef hat and dress. She holds an upside down goose in one hand, the other is hidden beneath her apron. With that side-glancing, determined look on her hand painted face, one could only imagine what's in her other hand - a butcher knife maybe? The bell is about 4-1/2" high. It's in excellent condition with ceramic wired clapper intact, no chips or flakes. The applied pink rose and green leaves on the apron ...

Parasol Girl Porcelain Figurine With Stiffened Lace Dress

$24 USDParasol Girl Porcelain Figurine With Stiffened Lace Dress

Pottery:Decorative:Figurines
This charming old fashioned blonde porcelain girl figurine is dressed in a ruffled pink coat and long stiffened dark pink netting and lace skirt. She has a pink flowered bonnet, a big bow at her neck, and holds a closed flower parasol. She's 6 inches tall and still has her foil sticker on the underside reading Wales, Reg. U.S. Pat. Off. Made in Japan. There is a little bit of wear to the bottom edge of the pink netting over the lace, otherwise the figurine is in excellent condition with no ...
Enesco Sleeping Angel in Clouds Figural Planter

$34 USDEnesco Sleeping Angel in Clouds Figural Planter

Pottery:Figural Planters
This sweet figural ceramic planter by Enesco features a barefoot baby angel holding a mandolin, asleep on a bed of clouds. I'm not sure if it's a girl or boy angel - the hair is boyish but the gown is a peachy pink color. The angel has a gold halo, gold trimmed mandolin and wings, and there are gold stars decorating the cloud planter. The planter is in excellent condition with no chips, flakes, water or soil stains, or other damage. It stands a little over 4" high by 4" wide. Red and gold foil ...
Morton Pottery Clown in Straw Hat Cookie Jar

$29 USDMorton Pottery Clown in Straw Hat Cookie Jar

Pottery:Kitchenware:Cookie Jars
This vintage clown in straw hat cookie jar was made by Morton Pottery of Morton Illinois. Actually, to me it resembles a scarecrow's head as much as a clown. It's 10-3/4" tall by about 7" wide. The hand painted facial features are underglaze (no cold paint) and the condition is perfect - no chips, flakes, scratches, or crazing.
Figural Scotty Dog Planter

$12 USDFigural Scotty Dog Planter

Pottery:Figural Planters
I have no idea who made this vintage unmarked Scottie Scottish Terrier planter, no doubt one of the American Pottery companies of the 1930s through 1950s. It's 5-1/2" tall by about 5" wide, all off-white glazed with cold painted red mouth and green collar. I cannot tell if he was made like this or if he once had other paint that was worn off, there is some flaking to the existing paint. Still, he's a cute little guy and has no chips, crazing or damage, just some rust residue in the bottom of the ...

$30 USDWinfield Pasadena Figural Rose Salt and Pepper Shakers

Pottery:California Pottery
These rare 1930s Winfield artware rose shaped salt and pepper shakers can be seen in Chipman's Collector's Encyclopedia of California Pottery. They're 2-1/4" high, one in a redwood brown color, the other pale yellow. The incised mark reads Winfield Pasadena 275, indicating an early studio production by Winfield's founder, Lesley Sample. The redwood shaker has one tiny glaze flake on the top of one petal which can be seen in the second and third pictures. The yellow shaker is perfect. The cork ...
1950s Delft Birth Announcement Plate With Baby and Stork

Pottery:European:Delft Porcelain
Two beautiful little Holland Delft plates commemorating the births of two different babies: Ralph Edward Good, born April 4, 1951, and Catherine Anne Winters, born October 18, 1954. A lovely hand painted scene in traditional Delft blue and white of a stork carrying a baby to its waiting cradle decorates each plate. Even the cuckoo clock on the wall has been personalized with the babies' time of birth. On the back of each 6-1/4" plate is a crown over oval mark with what appear to be the ...

A variation of the Glamour Girl style of vintage lady head vase, wearing a pink flowered bonnet. About 3" high, she has gold trim on her upswept hair and gold flower earrings. Her closed eyes, eyebrows, necklace, and hat trim are also gold. The hat has a bow at the back as well as flowers and leaves in relief. There are no chips, cracks, or crazing. I do see a minor paint flaw underglaze at the left lower side below the ear, and a few tiny dark specks under the glaze. This may be a Royal Sealy ...
Pre-1920s Japan Hand Painted Floral Serving Plate

$16 USDPre-1920s Japan Hand Painted Floral Serving Plate

Pottery:Made In Japan
This antique hand painted 10" floral plate isn't marked but I believe it was made in Japan prior to the 1920s. It has hand painted colorful flowers and an embossed orange-red rim with gold trim and raised moriage treatment on some of the flowers. The only marking is a raised 4-pointed star at the center underside, which is actually a firing support mark. It's a pretty plate for use or display and has no damage and little if any wear.
1950s Hors d'Oeuvres Serving Plate with Fruit Decoration

$18 USD1950s Hors d'Oeuvres Serving Plate with Fruit Decoration

Pottery:Made In Japan:Kitchenware
This 1950s ceramic serving platter has five sections for hors d'oeuvres or snacks. The center piece is in the shape of a colorful fruit basket, raised with holes to insert toothpicks. It rotates on a wooden plug but is not removable. The tray or plate is 10-1/4" diameter and has a basketweave pattern with raised fruit and flowers. The underside is marked 53/387A. An oval foil label is also present but it's no longer readable as the lettering has faded. The numbering system and the shape of the ...

Pottery:California Pottery:Metlox
This 11-1/8" by 8-1/2" oval platter is in the Della Robbia dinnerware pattern by Metlox Vernonware. There are a couple of dark sand specks in the glaze below the fruit border, otherwise it's in excellent condition with no wear or damage, not even utensil marks. Della Robbia is an ideal tableware pattern for summer and fall.

The underside has the impressed Bauer mark and both the casserole and matching lid are in perfect condition with no damage or wear. The retro goldtone shiny brass cradle stands on three wire tripod legs and has coiled wire double side handles. The cutwork sides have ...
9 Inch Brown Glazed Crockery Stoneware Shoulder Bowl

$18 USD9 Inch Brown Glazed Crockery Stoneware Shoulder Bowl

Pottery:Stoneware
Nice larger size stoneware crock shoulder bowl with a glossy brown glaze and horizontal bands decoration, 9" diameter by 4-1/2" deep. It's marked USA 9 IN, I'm not sure who made it. There are a few typical small nicks at the rim and the standard glaze pops. I've shown the most noticeable, but keep in mind the photo is enlarged and doesn't look nearly as obvious in person. There are a few stir marks in the bottom of the bowl, no cracks or hairlines. The glaze is still glossy and nice.
