Glass:Milk Glass:Pre-1900s Victorian

This milk glass dresser or vanity bottle still has quite a bit of the original paint on the embossed floral and scroll designs, though it appears that most of the painted gold flowers above the embossed work have worn away. The bottle is 9" tall to the top of the stopper, which I am not convinced is original. The stopper has a chip in the bottom. The bottle itself is in very good condition with no chips or flakes.

This is a circa 1918 canoe shaped dresser or pin dish in clambroth milk glass, which Tiffin called Lux glass. It measures 6" wide and has hand painted purple flowers and green leaves on the front, surrounding the words "Souvenir of Racine, Wis.". There are two smooth, tiny flakes on the side edges (look closely, you can see them in the photos), otherwise condition is good.

I don't know enough about shaving mugs to be able to date it precisely, but this unmarked heavy milk glass mug is definitely old and not a modern remake. I'm pretty sure post-1920s men did not prefer to have their shaving gear decorated with flowers. In addition, the glass is a little swirly and mottled, and more of a pale beige color than pure white. The mug is 3-1/2" high by 3-3/4" diameter at the rim. The front has a hand painted decoration of orange or faded red daisy type flowers with green ...

Gorgeous old 8" milk glass vase with raised and hand painted roses all the way around. Shown in Newbound's Collector's Encyclopedia of Milk Glass, identified as Pyramid With Flowers. Typical minor mold line roughness at base and the mold line below the rim inside. No chips or cracks and much of the original decoration remains. In-mold raised mark on the bottom which appears to be the number 98.
