Folk Art Dancing Couples Antique Repousse Copper Bowl

$149 USDFolk Art Dancing Couples Antique Repousse Copper Bowl

Antiques:By Period, Style:Arts & Crafts
A lovely hand wrought copper bowl from the late Victorian or early Arts and Crafts era, 1890s to early 1900s, quite possibly made in Europe or one of the Scandinavian countries. The 7-1/2" diameter bowl has a pedestal base, crimped rim, and hand beaten background. Inside the bowl around the sides are three different repousse images of couples dressed in folk art costumes embossed in high relief. The couples appear to be dancing or courting. The bottom and outside of the bowl have a silver ...
Antique Carved Wood Black Forest Thermometer Barometer White Paint

$225 USDAntique Carved Wood Black Forest Thermometer Barometer White Paint

Antiques:Accessories
This beautiful late 1800s to early 1900s Black Forest style carved wood wall thermometer has a high quality Danish barometer but was likely made in Germany. Made of mahogany, the flower and leaf hand carved frame has been painted white with gold trim. It think it was done long ago by a previous owner, the white paint is a little chippy and you can see the original very dark brown finish underneath. Overall measurements are 19-1/2" long by 8-3/4" wide. The white porcelain enamel and glass ...
Antique Carved Wood Black Forest Style Thermometer Barometer

$225 USDAntique Carved Wood Black Forest Style Thermometer Barometer

Antiques:Accessories
I'm not sure if this antique European (probably German) carved wood wall thermometer would be considered Black Forest or not, as the design is not the typical rococo style. The shape and decoration have definite Arts and Crafts elements. The wood appears to be oak. The very dark finish is original. Measurements are 19-3/8" long by 6-1/4" wide. The white porcelain enamel thermometer is marked for centigrade and Reaumur scale, an obsolete European unit of temperature measure. It works but I don't ...
Benedict Studios Arts & Crafts Bronzed 7 Piece Desk Set

$299 USDBenedict Studios Arts & Crafts Bronzed 7 Piece Desk Set

Antiques:By Period, Style:Arts & Crafts
This early 1900s art metal cast bronze desk set was made by Benedict Art Studios. The set includes an inkwell, stamp box, rocker style ink blotter, and four desk blotter corners, all with the same matching raised and gold gilt period decoration. The 3-1/8" tall ink well with front pen rest base has no insert. The 3" by 2" by 1-1/2" high stamp box has a partially detached hinge on one side but the lid is still attached and does close - there is no effect when viewed from the front. The lid has ...
Arts and Crafts Royal Rochester Cherry Wood Inlaid Serving Tray

$139 USDArts and Crafts Royal Rochester Cherry Wood Inlaid Serving Tray

Antiques:By Period, Style:Arts & Crafts
A beautiful cherry wood and glass serving tray from the Arts and Crafts era by Royal Rochester. The tray has a super Arts and Crafts stylized design in the center. It looks inlaid to me, though it's hard to tell under the glass - it could be a combination of inlay and gold gilt or paint. The tray measures 17" by 12" not including the two side brass handles, 20-3/4" wide with handles. The underside has a pyrographic cartouche mark reading Royal Rochester with the number 011752. Four raised wool ...
German Arts and Crafts 4 Piece Copper Tea and Coffee Service Set

$109 USDGerman Arts and Crafts 4 Piece Copper Tea and Coffee Service Set

Antiques:By Period, Style:Arts & Crafts
This four piece coffee and tea set in solid copper with brass trim was made by the J P Kayser & Son of Germany between 1900 and 1912. Kayser usually specialized in Jugendstil or Art Nouveau designs, but this style is more linear. The set includes a 6-1/2" coffee pot marked 5/8 L (liter), a 4-1/4" individual coffee or tea pot marked 3/8 L, an open double handled sugar bowl, and a cream pitcher. The lids to the serving pots are hinged. There are some small oxidation or tarnish spots, the most ...
