This is a wonderful hanging "Bill Spindle", in cast iron, with a bit of its original over varnish remaining.

The cut out "Heart shaped" central design is quite nice, and the raised saying on either side of the Heart is: "Time Saved....Money Gained"....(is that one of Ben Franklin's maxims??).

The size is 6" long x 3" wide....the tab at the top of the spike lifts the upper section of the curved rod and reveals the sharp spike on which to impale your bills, or accounts receivable.....keeps everything organized and nicely hangs on the wall....you know that other old saying "out of sight...out of mind"....(I sure do!!) This spindle will keep the important papers in sight all the time!!

A wonderful simple object of the late Victorian Era, that is also quite decorative.....
