This fine piece was hand made in the 1890's....the silver blade being hand beaten and engraved with a dragon on one side (and what looks like a jellyfish and other decorations on the other side), and the silver hilt finely detailed with moths. The handle consists of a small Prong Horn Antler, with a hide covered shaft..

There is a petite French Import stamp for the Sterling content, on the rod just where the blade joins the hilt (it is a separate component from the hilt).

And....the size is approx. 13.5" in length....

I don't think this piece was used very much, but a "wrinkle" at the very tip of the blade was flattened and repaired some time in the past....otherwise in excellent condition...

This is quite a Rare item....we have never seen another like it....and it would make a handsome gift for someone who collects those "ODD" items, or loves "Edged Weapons"....could be the start of a good "Murder Mystery" with Chinese influence....hmmm...gotta start writing that Novel that's been in my mind for years!!
