Whatever it's original function by design, its a cute little Stoneware "jar" was created in the colorful Mason's "Regency" pattern during the 1930's-40's.
This little jar was crafted to be a "completer piece" for the table or a sideboard, and you had really "arrived" if you had all the "little extras" to "complete" your pattern! Jar stands about 2 7/8" high by 3" long (oval end to oval end) with a width of 1". The top has a gentle scallop effect, the bottom is smooth. Jar is in Very Good Condition, with no chips or cracks, no "crazing" to the finish. The colors are bright a pretty with no fading.
Mason's "pottery" was manufactured in England and a popular addition in many countries, especially the American, Canadian, and British "trousseau".
