Early 1900s EAS (E.A. Schwerdtfeger) Tinted Real Photo Postcard, Classic Beauty in Oval Frame, Flowers, Ribbons, Seals, Half-Penny Stamp

A beautiful example of studio photography mixing real photo elements (the lovely lady in Greek goddess style) with in-studio props (picture frame, flowers, ribbons and wax seals). Delicately color-tinted by hand - the magenta beads in her hair, lavender ribbons and violets, lemon-yellow daisies and crimson seals - and set within a sepia-toned frame and background.

Stamped (English half-penny) and postmarked in Margate (date illegible. Carries the EAS trademark ( E. A Schwerdtfeger & Co., London, E. C.) and identified as #047/4. Verse reads: Today should be a time of peace, / A day when happy things increase, / A day when joy and gladness thrives, / A day remembered all our lives." Inked message and address. In very good condition with minimal edge and corner wear; there is a little smudging on lower righthand border.
