This chocolate pot is 6 1/4" from handle to spout, 4" across base and stands 7 3/4" tall. The covered sugar holder is 6 3/4" across the handles, 3 5/8" wide and 3 3/8" tall. The creamer is 4 5/8" from handle to spout, 3 1/4" wide and 4 1/4" tall. All pieces are in excellent condition with no chips, nicks, cracks, or hairlines. Gold wear is very minor - primarily some light rubbing on the tops of the handle arches and some light, wear to the gold accents on a couple of the molded scrolls at bottom of the pot's front (with handle to the left). The painted violets on all pieces are in very fine condition with only very light fading in their brightness. The green watercolor-like wash of the background shows some unevenness of application to the neck of the pot. These minor effects do not at all detract from the beauty of this set.

Each piece carries a green, underglaze T&V Limoges France mark (Gaston's Tressemann & Vogt Mark 7b), as well as the patent date (Dec. 22, 1896) and mold design name (Venice). The gold work was applied after the florals and seems to be factory decorated, but I can not be certain - it might well have been a blank decorated in the early 1900s by a talented, American artist. The demitasse pot is shown (with different floral pattern) in Gaston's Collector's Encyclopedia of Limoges Porcelain, Third Edition, plate 741 where its 2003 value is given as $550-$650. The creamer/pitcher (with different floral pattern) is shown in plate 783 and valued at $120-135. Please stop in again when you're traveling down Ruby lane!
