What a wonderful set for your holiday table! Each plate measures 10 15/16" to 11 1/16" - in other words, there is a 1/8" variation in size among the plates. Seven plates are in excellent condition with no chips, nicks, cracks or hairlines and with extremely minimal loss of gilding, paint or beading. One plate is in very good condition with no chips, nicks, cracks or hairlines - but shows some loss of paint and gold around the ornate filigree medallions in the deep ruby/crimson-colored sectors - ca. 10% (please see closeup photo 7). Also, please note that one of the plates has a rich, deep magenta shade rather than the redder, crimson shade of the other seven (photo 6) - not noticeable when displayed as full table setting. Each plate is marked with the M-in-wreath Hand Painted Nippon backstamp (Van Patten's #47) and dates to 1911-18. Please stop by again when you're traveling down Ruby Lane!
