New York City Souvenir Brass-toned Trinket Box, Statue of Liberty, Empire State Building & Rockefeller Center

Famous landmarks of New York City are featured in gold-toned insets within a pearlized pink background. represented are the Statue of Liberty, Rockefeller Center and the Empire State Building. The heavy metal, brass composite, hinged box is deeply embossed with scrolls and acanthus leaves.

The box measures 3 1/4" at longest side, is 2 1/8" wide and stands 1 1/2" tall. It is in very good condition with no nicks or bends - there is a 1/2" crack in the upper metal layer at top of the front end, but it does not go through to the interior side (please see closeup). Tarnish is minor -- ca. 10% on exterior and 15-20% on interior. I think that felt or satin-like material probably covered the interior, originally, as the interior is textured and the edges around the rim which fold over toward the inside are a bit sharp and rough - so were probably covered with material. The hinge is tight and in fine working order. The underside is embossed "Japan". Please visit me again!
