A soft, blending of colors and a naturalistic approach to botanical details have created this pleasing closeup of a strawberry patch. The background wash is a gentle shading of pale aqua, pinky-peach and a hint of creamy yellow. The strawberries grow from thick leaves and on twisting vines. I especially like the impression of rosy sunlight and a clear blue, summer sky, as well as the depiction of seeds on the berries. Very nice!

This 8 1/2" plate is in very good condition with no chips, nicks, cracks or hairlines. There is no discernible wear to the painted design and minor gold wear to the rim - ca. 20%. There a few, small, light, stray scratches in the upper field which can be seen under a bright, raking light. Thanks for visiting my shop!
