This split center, pierced handle tray features pastel flowers in shades of rose pink, cornflower blue, lemon yellow and violet which are done in overglaze paints against a lustrous, cream matte background. Burnished gold decorates the thick border trim and the Art Nouveau, molded rose handle. This attractive dish while a beautiful display item, would be perfect for a guest towel and soap, as a potpourri dish, or as an elegant place to drop off the daily mail! Its traditional use may have been as a vanity/dresser tray or possibly for tea sandwiches.

This gently scalloped dish measures and is 11" long x 7" wide; it is 1 1/4" deep at front and 2 1/4" deep from handle to base. In excellent condition with no chips, nicks, cracks or hairlines. There is minimal wear to the florals or gold trim (ca. 5% at most) and very minor wear to a couple of the higher relief points of the molded rose (5-10%). It carries an underglaze, white ware Bernardaud backstamp (Gaston's Mark #2) dating to 1914-1930s. Please come by again! The artist has signed above the factory mark with the initials "E. S." Please come by again!
