This lovely bowl measures 11" in diameter and is 3" deep. In very good condition with no chips, nicks, cracks or hairlines. There is minor wear to the brushed gold on the complex, beaded molding along the rim - ca. 10-15%. The transfer print has minor fading in the sky area and some darker lines from a slightly imperfect application process. The background wash has been added in lovely, blended swaths of creamy ivory, pale peach, lemon yellow, aqua, teal and deep forest green - this latter color has been used around the lilies in the water to make them seem brighter and more luminous. The backstamp is the Weimar, Germany shield mark which belongs to C. & E. Carstens Porcelain Manufactory (Blankenhain, Thuringia, Germany [E. Germany]) and dates from 1918-1945. From the complex molding and floral design, I would place this on the earlier side of that date range. Please stop in again when you have time to browse!
