Gorgeous PT (Tirschenreuth, Bavaria) Large 9 1/2" Bowl, Lush White & Pink Peonies, Artist Signed

If you love peonies, as I do...well! This beautiful display bowl features large, beautifully detailed peonies with more shades that I can count. The white petals are accented in bright white enamel paint and the centers with tiny enamel beads to form pollen clusters. Each petal is given form and shadow with many shades, including pale aqua, yellow-green, teal and butterscotch. The pink peony is detailed with similar features and shades as the others, but also with petal pink, rose pink and hints of lavender. The leaves and under-plant area are done in shades of teal, forest-green, terracotta, sable and mocha. The background blends from cream to creamy beige to pale apricot to melon to terracotta to sable. The images appear to be a transfer with hand painted accents. The scalloped rim has a bead molding and is trimmed in brushed gold. The bowl's form is like that of a large, open flower on a scalloped, footed base. The artist's signature is "R. Zimerman" and may refer to the original design or to the artist who did the handpainted accents.

Measures 9 1/2" in diameter and is 2 3/4" deep. In excellent condition with no chips, nicks, cracks or hairlines. It carries a green underglaze crown & shield mark for P.T. [Tirschenreuth] Bavaria, as well as a green overglaze art studio mark in form of a ribbon with "Handpainted Bavarian China" and "Peonies". Thanks fro taking time to visit me!
