An example of this lovely plate (with poppies instead of violets) is shown in Gaston's Collector's Encyclopedia of Limoges Porcelain, 3rd ed., p. 311. This plate carries marks 5b (green underglaze white ware) and Mark 11 (red overglaze decorating). Gaston attributes the white ware mark as being found on items which commemorated famous people and events. Mark 11 dates to 1892-1907. Please visit me again!
