This beautifully decorated plate has highly detailed floral patterns that are bright and vivid. The pink and white roses are subtly formed with excellent realism and sophisticated shading and highlights. The plate has a fairly wide gold trim and soft yellow, 1 1/2" rim, with the flowers starting at the edge and flowing down verge and onto the body of the plate. The handpainted, white highlights are unusual for Ohme items, which are usually completely done in transfer.

This gorgeous plate measures 8 1/2" and is in near mint condition with no chips, cracks, hairlines or crazing and minimal gold wear - ca. 5%. Even under a raking light, I cannot see any scratches. There is the green 'fleur-de-lis' Ohme mark with "Silesia" and a similar Ohme mark with orange outline which indicates that this item is first class porcelain. The mark is actually a crown over a stylized 'H' and 'O'. This example of the 'clear glaze' line of Hermann Ohme was made at the Germany Manufactory in Niedersalzbrunn, Silesia, Germany (currently, Walbrzych in Western Poland). Thanks for visiting!
