This unusual and elegant plate features a complex, beaded mold form with an ornate, feather-like rim. It is covered in an exquisite, gold floral chintz pattern. The plate's center field has a pale pink and cream wash on top of which is a delicate design of flowering branches done in applied gold paste - stunning!

Measures 8" and carries the green, underglaze white ware Laviolette mark (1896-1905) and the red, overglaze decorating Elite Works Mark 8 (1891-1900), dating this plate to 1896-1900. There is some gold wear on the elevated ridges of the plate (please see photos) and ca. 10% wear to the brushed gold on the rim, but over all it is in very good condition with no chips, cracks, hairlines or crazing.
