Vibrant, bold colors will make this large, early Noritake bowl a real standout on your shelf or table. Against the white porcelain and within a 'field' of lemon yellow the flowers are handpainted in a watercolor style and in warm shades of melon, tangerine, and tan. The foreground leaves are bright lemon-lime and grass-green and the background leaves are a lovely shade of lavender - giving the florals a wonderful sense of depth. The swath of brown at the base of the flowers suggests the soil from which the flowers bloom - very nice!

Measures 10" x 2 3/4" and is in very good condition with no chips, cracks or crazing; there is a tiny firing pop in the bowl. There is minor gold wear to the rim and handles - ca. 5-10%. Carries the Noritake M-in-wreath mark, but with "Made in Japan", so dates to after 1921 when 'Japan' was used on exports rather than the earlier practice of denoting the country by 'Nippon'.
