SALE Vintage Cartwright and Edwards Victoria Bone China Cup and Saucer Set

The elegant six-fluted shape of this cup with its angular, bamboo-style handle and the deeply curved, scalloped saucer make this set a wonderful addition for your collection - or for that special (and rare!), quiet moment over morning coffee or evening herbal tea. Vividly colored and lush pink and white peonies (I believe) decorate the cup's front, back and interior, as well as the saucer. Beautiful detailing!

The backstamp identifies this set as 'Victoria C& E Bone China, England' with jeweled crown logo; and the pattern number '711' in gold. Cartwright and Edwards had operated out of Borough Pottery since at least 1869 and by 1912 had taken over the Victoria Works, until 1955 when both Borough and Victoria were sold to Manor Engineering Co. Ltd. This set likely dates to the latter end of the range.

Cup measures 4 1/4" from handle to rim and stands 2 3/4" tall; saucer is 5 1/2" in diameter and 1" deep. In very good condition with no chips, cracks or crazing and minimal gold wear (ca. 5%). Thanks for stopping by!
