Extremely complex molding makes this a gorgeous bowl to display in a prominent place in your home. $34 USD SaleSALE Antique Ornately Embossed 9" Cake Plate with Florals & Pierced Handles, ca. 1900

Porcelain:Germany, Bavaria:Other
Although unmarked, this gorgeous, winter-white porcelain plate is probably of German origin. The realism and amazing shading of the roses and the complicated styling and subtlety of the embossed rim is of a quality and elegance consistent with the finest German porcelain manufacturers and is very similar to embossed work out of Silesia - the delicacy of the embossing and the floral design is typical of Tielsch or Hermann Ohme. Such an appealing plate! The scalloped form has a delicate, raised beaded trim with small shield-like embellishments placed around the rim. This lovely, old-fashioned plate has a softly shaded transfer of pink and magenta roses & rosebuds, complete with lots of leafy greenery. The overglaze has a beautiful, glossy sheen. Porcelain:Germany, Bavaria:Other
This pretty Bavarian imported blank is a nice hand-painted example of a stylized, Art Deco design from an early American artist. A delicately applied, light mint-green tint provides a nice background to the stylized floral design -- which also has abstract elements that have a stained-glass 'look'. This small plate measures 6" in diameter and is in very good condition with no chips, cracks, hairlines or crazing. There is a little fading of the paint on the bottom of one of the hanging pendants. ...

Spring beckons! This gently scalloped cake plate with molded, pierced handles is made of bright white porcelain against which the leafy clusters of purple and maize-yellow wildflowers are really beautiful. But the most special feature of this plate is the unusual mold which takes the form of a scarf or handkerchief draped across the plate. Really lovely! I can just imagine bringing it out with a fattening, super-rich cheesecake with lots of berries as garnish - even better if served outside on ...
