18th-Century German Porcelain by George Savage, published in 1958 by Spring Books, London, 242 pages in hardcover, measuring 6" by 9".This very scarce book is a scholarly study of 18th Century Meissen porcelain, as well as the smaller factories of Germany and Austria. It contains nearly 300 black and white photographs, a comprehensive bibliography and an invaluable index of maker's marks. Chapters cover such wares as: Nymphenburg, Hoechst, Frankenthal, Berlin, Fuerstenberg, Ludwigsburg, Ansbach, Kelsterbach, Fulda, Thuringia, and 'Hausmalerei', amongst others.
Long out of print and seldom found, this vintage book is an excellent reference source for the collector, student, dealer or historian of early German and Austrian porcelain. This hardcover copy shows considerable age tone in the text as well as old tape discoloring on the interior cover. It is otherwise in excellent condition.
