Circa 1890. Small, fine hand-painted vase. Most probably a Limoge blank with American amateur decoration that was very popular in this Period. Very nicely painted by a skilled hand and clearly signed by the artist, R. E. Hilton on the bottom. The vase is round with three heavily gilded legs and a gilded ruffled rim. There are sprays of flowers (pansies) in strong, lively colors all around the body and the back round is assorted pastel shades of blue, green pink and yellow. Fresh from a local Brooklyn estate. Excellent original condition, with virtually no wear. 3 3/4" tall x 3 3/4" wide. Price $120.
