Circa 1890. Handsome Continental high back fauteuil, featuring a high, square back and seat covered in an early tapestry finished with brass tacks and edged in an undulating fringe. Beautiful carved walnut, molded and shaped arms, finely turned arm supports, legs and stretchers. Fine dark and light ( where finish is worn on the arms) patina, the frame has been lightly cleaned and re-polished. We have also re-tied the springs to give the upholstery an even look. The tapestry is in over all good condition with a hardly noticeable two inch split on the seat and fraying on the rear top edge which we believe is easily fixable. All original. 45 " tall x 22"wide x 33" deep with a seat height of 20". Price $895.
