1965 Stangl Pottery Tulip Ashtray with Sticker

Stangl began making flower shaped ashtrays in the 1960’s. One of the shapes added in 1965 was the Tulip shaped ashtray. This yellow with orange tulip ashtray measures 4 inches and is in very good condition with only manufacturing glaze abnormalities present. The original “Stangl Pottery Flemington, NY” gold sticker is present in the center of the ashtray. The back has the Stangl logo with “Stangl Trenton, NJ” in an oval. Stangl Pottery opened in Flemington, New Jersey in 1814 by Mr. Hill as Hill Pottery and later Fulper Pottery. Mr. Stangl began working in 1910 as an engineer of new designs. He bought the factory in 1929 and renamed it Stangl Pottery. The Flemington factory burned down in 1929 and the Stangl line continued in a Trenton, New Jersey factory until the factory closed in 1978.
