I do love vintage glass beads, especially when I can get new old stock that is in pristine condition. I have combined the glass with sterling parts and lever back earwires that are designed to allow the wearer to use different dangles depending on her mood. This is like having 3 pairs of earrings at once.

For this set, I have chosen a cased oval bead from 1950's Italy that has a dark persimmon core with an equator of silver with multi-colored speckles. In a green mood? Switch the persimmon for these green swirled beads that were made by hand in Japan between 1951 and 1956. And, to celebrate the coming of Spring, trade in the green for a floral bead made in Japan in 1952 and accented with modern cultured freshwater pearls.

This hand crafted in Maine earring set is a comfortable weight with the largest dangles 1-1/4 inches long and the shortest 1" long. The beads are matched but not identical due to their hand made nature.

This convertible earring set comes from my smoke free shop with no cats but 1 dog supervising. And, of course, I will gladly accept Paypal, Google Checkout, money order or cashiers checks. Personal checks are also welcome from American buyers, drawn on American banks, with the proviso that there is a $20 charge if (and only if) they bounce. Insurance is required but is always included in the shipping which is by boxed first class mail.
