RED RIDING HOOD AND HER SUPPOSED GRANDMOTHER

This 7 1/4" plate has a crisp image transfer printed in rich chocolate brown with great four color polychrome hand painting, clobbering in shades of cinnamon brown, golden yellow, red and cobalt blue. The image is part of the Red Riding Hood series coveted by collectors. This transfer is rarely ever seen for sale.
In addition to the entire ABC alphabet transfer with the classic Brownhills decorative transfer, this plate has a central cartouche of Little Red Riding Hood arriving at her grandmother's house with a surprise in bed.
Condition is EXCELLENT. No crazing, chips, utensil marks. Looks as good as the day it was made, 125 years ago.
Plates like these were given as gifts to children on special occasions and were used as educational tools, as well. A lovely addition to your ABC collection.
