EARLY CHILDS TIN PAIL WITH LID

ALPHABET

c. 1850 ~ 1860 ~ Civil War Era

This fabulous very early child's pail is 2 1/4" tall x 2 3/4" wide with a wire bail handle. The pail has the entire alphabet surrounding the top perimeter and flowers, leaves, and geometric shapes filling out the remainder of this delightful piece. Probably a candy container for children with the added benefit of helping them learn the alphabet.

Condition is very good. One 1/4" bend along the cover rim. A rare find. Piece is actually darker than photos.
