This original and complete set comes with 5 plates (4 1/8"), 5 cups and 5 saucers (2 3/4"), teapot with original lid, open sugar, creamer, serving tray 10 1/8" x 8 1/8".

Beautifully decorated with -- Pinocchio, Geppetto, Cleo the Goldfish, Jiminy Cricket, Figaro the Kitten and the Blue Fairy -- lithographed all around the pieces. The set was made as a spinoff from the 1940 animated cartoon film by Disney, Pinocchio.

Pinocchio is the second animated feature in the Walt Disney Animated Classics. It was produced by Walt Disney and was originally released on February 7, 1940. Based on the story Pinocchio: Tale of a Puppet by Carlo Collodi, the plot of the film involves a wooden puppet being brought to life by a blue fairy, who tells him he can become a real boy if he proves himself "brave, truthful, and unselfish". Thus begin the puppet's adventures to become a real boy, which involve many encounters with a host of unsavory characters.

Condition is good with wear and scratches/especially to plates, signs of light rusting from many decades of play and use. No crimping or bending. Amazing to find a complete original matching set. A fantastic addition to any collection of Disney or tin litho children's tea wares.
