Most of these mugs were made in Japan. He's a bold vintage mug, a 6 1/2" tall tiki face with closed eyes. Beautiful rich honey brown shiny glaze. Very nice example of this form. See a variation of these mugs on page 76 in Duke Carter TikiQuest book. REALLY retro and in great condition no chips or cracks. Surf's up! Must have for your tiki bar or lounge collection.
