Designed and crafted with exquisite detailing, this molded Celluloid cameo pin brooch is done in a classic Empire and Victorian Revival style in an ornate gold plate frame. Celluloid was the first semi-synthetic thermoplastic. This circa 1930’s Celluloid cameo brooch measures 1 ½ inches in length and 1 ¼ inches in width, Mounted on carnelian red ochre celluloid, the deeply molded profile of a woman is cast in ivory Celluloid with beautiful detail. Her hair is styled in a Greek classic elaborate upswept style, with a few ringlets escaping. Her facial features are also exquisitely molded, smooth neck and shoulders framed by the neckline of her gathered dress.The pin back is original and works perfectly.
