So fashionable for the upright piano in the 19th century parlor, this antique ivory wool shawl has a very ornate knotted and tied silk fringe trim on three sides around the top which is a double layer (folded) wool fabric. If you have a good eye, would do many things repurposed. Let your creative imagination go. No upright player piano in your home? These gorgeous textiles make stunning throws on a sofa or console table or can be worn as a fashion statement to your next gala ball. No moth holes in the wool, however there are a some stains in the right corner (see pics) on one side of the top and three tiny stains at the left corner. When reversed, the other side is pristine. The fringe is knotted equally so this shawl is truly reversible. I have not attempted to clean this myself, but will leave that to someone with proper expertise in conservation of textiles.
