Shahrazad - the keeper of the thousand tales....the name of this ancient queen evokes mystery and beauty, as do these earrings. The gemstone iolite ("water sapphire") features prominently, from the faceted nuggets which sway at the ends to the faceted rondelles above the pearl. Their color, a watery dark blue, complements the midnight hue of the large 12mm round freshwater pearls, each faceted to reflect the light. Bright 22 karat gold over sterling silver vermeil accents, including ornate cups and granulated discs, complete the beauty and provide a lovely counterpoint to the dark blue of the stones.
