Museum Set! Rarest 19th century Baccarat Champagne Glasses
An extraordinary and extraordinarily rare pristine set of TWELVE Baccarat champagne glasses made in a pattern expressly designed for the Imperial Russian Court in the 19th century. A slight variation on the Tsar pattern which was for the Russian Royal family's exclusive use, these glasses were likely made for someone else in the Imperial Russian court. These 19th century champagnes be found today only in museums and some private collections.
These have been authenticated by very experienced crystal specialists in both France and Italy. Unsigned, because Baccarat did not start signing until 1934, I am informed that no one else made champagne glasses this size, let alone this style. In the late 19th century, Baccarat was consumed with the orders for the Russian Imperial Court.
Photography does not do these glasses justice. They are 12" tall! The saucer is a massive 4" plus in diameter, the bases 4" even in diameter. And the sounds! When these glasses are tapped, they make a wonderful music. It is with the greatest pleasure and excitement we offer them to you here.
By the way, 1400 euros ( that's over $2,000.00 US)is the current price for each Baccarat champagne glass made today in the Tsar pattern and size.
