Every day in every way we are getting better!
Tresseman & Vogt Limoges was made between 1891-1907, which dates these large oval serving platters to the turn of the 19th Century. They are a matched set with an elegant simple gilt border optimizing their seamless blending in with other china patterns. A very nice feature of these platters is their solid weight. While I wouldn't put them in the dishwasher, it is reassuring to know that these platters are not going to be easy to damage. And indeed, for serving pieces over 100 years old, they are in admirable condition. There is of course the usual wear to some of the gilt on the rims (but hardly any on the plate edges where the design shows), and there is one small chip on the smallest platter which has been gilt to minimize it's appearance. Dimensions: the largest platter is 16" long, 13 1/2" wide and 2" deep, the next largest is 13 1/2" long, 11" wide, 1 1/2" deep and the smallest is 11 1/2" long, 9" wide 1 1/2" deep.
