This is a set of 10 antique tin coated cast iron metal taps for tapping Maple Trees for their syrup in the Spring with warm days and cold nights. Four are marked "PAT D 1898". They have a bucket or pail handle hook on the bottom. They are 2 ½ " long with a tapered end for inserting into the tree that is hollow from there into the spigot. Two with a separate wire bucket holder are marked “PATD 1884”. One is almost 3 ½ “ long and the other 2 7/8” long. Another one similar but shorter than the 1898 ones is marked “PATD 1891”. Another one with a square back is marked “PAT 1877” but is hard to read. The last 2 are similar but not marked. There is rust, wear and plating loss. They are used in good condition for collecting, use or display. There are 9 pictures for viewing. Buyer pays shipping costs for a 2 pound package sent from NY zip code 14873.
