REDUCED 7 Russell & Erwin Mfg. Co. New Britain Conn. Jail Keys Hollow Center 3½“Long Skeleton Lock

This is a set of old Jail Keys each marked “RUSSELL & ERWIN MFG. CO. NEW BRITAIN CONN. U.S.A.” The top of the keys are surrounded by stars. They measure 3 ½ “ long and have a hollow center tube. Three have similar ends while the others are different. They are used with some wear and surface rust spots. They were purchased at a Flea Market and I was unable to find out which Jail they went to. On a Internet search I found this company dates to 1816 and was reorganized in 1851 then merged with P.& F. Corbin in 1902. Erwin died in 1885. Another Internet site dates the company from 1864 to 1935. They are in very good condition for collecting and display. There are 9 pictures for viewing.
