This is a selection of vintage Shaner family papers that go from World War 1 WW1 through the Korean War. Herbert Shaner was a Silk Twister who served in the Argonne Sector during the war. There is an original plus a copy of a Marriage License confirmation form from 1954 for Herbert Foster Shaner and Sarah Elizabeth Orr of Williamsport Pennsylvania that shows they were married July 11, 1918. There is an original Honorable Discharge from the United States Army given at Camp Dix N.J. April 15th 1919.There is copy of a WAR SERVICE RECORD with 28th Infantry 1st Division. There is an AWARD OF COMPENSATION paper to this Pvt. who was in Co. L for $19 a month for Line of Duty Injury dated Oct. 1, 1920. There is a 1948 Veterans Admin. Change of address paper. Along with these is an envelope from 1953 from his son SSGT Harland A. Shanner 758 2nd Air Base Sq. who served during the Korean War. There is a Newspaper clipping of his Kettering England Marriage. There are 19 photographs photos of his marriage in Uniform and other pictures of him and his wife. One is in front of a Bomb Shelter 1952. This is a good condition set of War Era Family Memorabilia obtained at auction. There are 9 pictures with scans for viewing.
