Abbott Fuller Graves - born 1859 died 1936. This is a nautical painting of a Maine Fisherman in a dory on a foggy day. Painted around the turn of the century - late 1890's. It is signed SLR "Abbott Graves". This painting is in excellent condition. The image is O/C with a size of 14 X 20, and framed is 22 X 28. The frame is not the original, but was added by Vose Gallery in Boston. The frame was made by 'Abe Munn' and is a great match for the artwork! It is water gilded, and his frames are worth thousands of dollars. Vose Gallery Label on back of painting with inventory number from Gallery. I will give a buyer the inventory number upon reciept of as deposit. I have verified the info. with Vose. Vose Gallery currently has other Graves nautical paintings. All is in truly excellent condition. Graves is famous for flowers and landscapes, but he did many marine pieces including this wonderful painting. The auction records for Graves go from $10,000 to $100,000. Lovely work of art by a superb artist. It is titled " Maine Dorie Fisherman". Probably a scene in the Kennebunkport, Maine area. This marine painting looks like a Winslow Homer painting.
