Nothing makes us happier than uniting beautiful glassware with passionate collectors.
But now we're past the label lets take a look at the bottle itself! A stunning work of blown art glass the Amber crackle glass bottle was decorated with rich forest green features to form an exquisite Fish decanter, complete with eyes, mouth, fins and tail.
Though the wine was produced in Italy I cannot guarantee the glassware was, however it certainly would be a logical conclusion. Two similar pieces are shown in "Crackle Glass from around the World" by Stan and Arlene Weitman. They show a different shaped fish decanter with the same companies wine lable upon it, and also a Crocodile decanter in the same crackle glass and coloring as this piece but without and labels.
This bottle would make an exceptional addition to any home or collection. It is sure to spark interesting conversations wherever it should go, as it already has done in this household. It measures (including the stopper) a total of 18 1/2" tall and is almost 7" wide at the widest point. In excellent condition it has one small chip on the rim but no other damage at all. It does have a piece of cork stuck inside the bottle. The seal at the base of the stopper is tight and secure.
