Super piece. Ripple molding around doors. Makers stamp on back. Two piece construction. Original glasses. Fitted compartment inside drop front. Two different ways to open drop front. Adjustable shelves. Some minor chips in the veneer where the top piece meets the bottom piece. Bottom door chamfered on the inside. Flame mahogany on the moldings and the doors, walnut on the sides and secondary wood. The back is stamped " Manufactured By C. F. Klopfer & Co. Corner of Penn. & Wayne St. Pittsburgh,PA".
This piece came from the George Shaw estate in Franklin, PA. He was the owner of Shaw industries 1941- 2003. He also was the co founder of the Johnson-Shaw Stereoscopic museum in Meadville,PA. There are a couple documents that were inside the cabinet when I bought it. They look like a marriage certificate or birth certificate. It is written in what looks like German. I have pictures if you would like to see them. This could be a very important piece of furniture in American history. I have never seen another piece with the ripple molding like this one. It measures 86" tall 49" wide at the top crown molding. 45" wide at the base. The top section is 12" deep. The lower section is 21 1/2" deep.
