Antique American Federal Mahogany Ladies Writing Desk

This is a great federal mahogany ladies desk. It is made in a two part construction with highly figured mahogany veneers. It has two paneled upper doors with locks that open to a fitted interior with four tiger maple drawers. The lower case has a fold-over writing surface, with three long drawers with locks. Nicely turned feet. Has white pine secondary wood. Typical New England construction from the early 19th century, around 1810. Some veneer cracks repairs and abrasions.
