This is a 2 gallon stoneware jug by T.F. Reppert from around 1880. The jug is in good condition with 2 minor chips on the lip.(see photo). The blue decoration states "T.F. Reppert Successor to L.S. Hamilton & Co Greensboro,PA" Measures 14 1/2 " tall In 1850 James and Leet Hamilton made stoneware jugs in Greensboro,PA. James sold his interest in the pottery to T.F. Reppert in 1880. the company eventually became Williams and Reppert in 1886. By the early 1900's most of the potters were out of business because of more modern storage devices.
