About Us
Hello and welcome to Cathys Clocks. I (Dennis Robbins) am second generation clock collector/dealer. My dad (Jerry Robbins) was collecting clocks in the 1960's when you could get a Seth Thomas #2 for about $200. Kitchen and mantel clocks were $20, boy are those days gone.
I can remember as a child growing up the house was full of clock of all kinds. I didn't have much interest in clocks until later in life.
When my wife Cathy and I bought our first house my dad gave me a clock that was not working. With a great deal of help from my dad I was able to fix the clock and get it running. That was a real thrill for me. After that I started to buy old clocks that needed to be repaired, after a few years of that I had a building full of clocks. My friends and neighbors would hear about the clocks and some would come to buy one or bring one in to be repaired.
That is how we got started in clocks. I have now moved on to collecting the more advanced clocks and have spent many hours with my local NAWCC chapters clock repair class.
