Very lovely cameo with a rare carving. Beautifully done with 2 horses - one rearing up and leading a woman on a chariot. The detail is just superb. Unique and unusual piece. The back of the pin dates it no earlier than the 1920s but is is possible with the subject matter the cameo itself is older. The metal has tested as sterling silver. The edge has nice filigree work. The frame is somewhat out of round - I think a jeweler could help this and the cameo does have some lines on the left side but all is stable and secure and this is still a wonderful old piece. The piece measures 1 and 3/4 inches by 1 and 3/8 inches.
