Beautiful and intricately made shell cameo necklace. My book that cover Italian silver shows the identical piece with blue stones. This one has deep blood red glass stones very must resembling the deep hues of Bohemian garnets.Circa 1900 and tested as 800 silver - very common on these lovely old cameo necklaces. The book states these are late 19th century though I myself would have dated the style cameo to the 1920s. The necklace measures 17 inches when clasped. The center design when laid flat counting all the wire work measures 5 and 1/2 inches across. The center cameo drop measures 1 and 1/2 inches top to bottom. The condition of this piece is excellent. I have not attempted to clean the piece and it has a nice patina.
