Beautiful circa 1860 pin/pendant. I believe it is genuine jet - not jet glass or gutta percha by the weight and the shine. It has lovely carvings with graped and leaves. The piece is a very good size measuring 1 and 7/8 inches by 1 and 5/8 inches. It has a loup to be worn as a pendant and the old tube hinge pinback that was common for the era. The front is in excellent condition. The back has one small edge chip and a slight bend in the pinback that does not affect the function of the pin. It is a wonderful old mourning piece.
