Description: This is a lovely circa 1880 pin. It was actually a necklace centerpiece ( probably on a bookchain piece) originally and someone had a jeweler convert it to a pin. It has a a wonderful hard stone cameo surrounded by a beautiful Etruscan design. They had their initials scripted on the back. Stunning old festoon necklace. Circa 1900. I think the pictures say it all about this wonderful piece. It has a nicely carved hard stone cameo and coral drop and accents. The necklace measures 16 and 1/2 inches when clasped. The center festoon area when laid flat and straight across - measures 4 and 1/2 inches by 2 and 1/8 inches top to bottom. Beautifully carved cameo! Unmarked by has tested as 14kt gold. Late Victorian and circa 1900-1910. The artwork is just exceptional and signed on the back. The frame of the cameo is also quite lovely with pretty floral designs. The piece has a pinback and a flip up top loop so it can be hidden when worn as a pin. This is a gorgeous old locket. Circa 1880s with a beautifully carved hard stone surrounded by ornate edging. It has a pretty rose gold color. The clasp is interesting. Unlike some it does not have a latch that snaps shut and the pin slides into place and is held closed by the tightness of the hinges. It has all the original inside hardware and glass.
